The medical community is concerned about the cell changes that certain strains of the human papillomavirus virus (HPV) trigger. Mutations that can develop into cancers over time.

Sadly, and even more worrisome, HPV is a commonly contracted sexually transmitted virus with approximately 80 percent of Americans likely to become infected.

That’s why the medical community is urging men and women to protect themselves from sexual behaviours that can prompt an HPV-related cancer. If you are 60 years of age or older, and sexually active, doctors believe you may be particularly susceptible to these types of cancers.
